STAFRÆNN HÁKON on GOGOYOKO
Stafrænn Hákon now has a digital webshop on the brilliant icelandic GOGOYOKO site. On the site you can shop all Stafrænn Hákon albums in high quality mp3 format (320kbps cbr). Have a look at the site or check other great icelandic musicians over there.

A new digital webshop is being build at the moment so look out for a new one with all Stafrænn Hákon & related released material.

In other news: Stafrænn will head into studio in July to finish his new album. Again Stafrænn will work with his good friend/collaborator Daniel Lovegrove/ Dialect / Unstatuesque. It will hopefully be released in late 2009 if everything goes by plan.

Collaboration with Void´s Anatomy...
The collaboration between Stafrænn Hákon and Canadian musician Marie Jorge of Void´s Anatomy is out now on the superb Canadian label  CHAT BLANC  for only 9USD including postage from their website .

From their website:

"After the success of  his now sold out chat blanc ep in 2006,
Stafraenn Hakon is back with a collaborative work with quebec's artist Void's Anatomy for 3 nice tracks being a part of our Echange series. While Olafur is taking care of most of the music, which is usual extra melodic Stafrænn Hakon like, the sweet voice of Marie Jorge a.k.a. Void's Anatomy brings the last touch to make it a perfect ep!!!! Highly recommended!!
"
Coming in a light brown cardboard printed in 222 copies.

Hello
currently working on new album which is slowly evolving into something more heavier than before , exciting.  So far some vocal collaboration with Minco Eggersman who sang "hausi" from the album "Gummi".  I am hoping to have this album released 2009 if everything goes by plan.

In the meantime check out the collaboration with my friend Larus which we call CALDER
This album was released on Make Mine Music a in November 2008 and can be found here.

take care

SUMMER

Long time since last update, but there is actually something to tell!!! First off the collaboration between Stafrænn Hákon and Lárus Sigurðsson entitled Calder will release their second album on the very fine Make Mine Music in late 2008. The album has been in the works for the last 2-3 years or so and we are very pleased and proud of this album. Make Mine Music is a great independent label where artists pay for all their manufacture costs and in return they will retrieve all the sales from the album (which is very very rare), so when buying the album people will be supporting the artist directly. Obviously we are not trying to be the next Metallica but this is a very good platform for a small artists like us. Some great artists are on Make Mine Music such as Yellow 6, Portal, July Skies, Epic 45, Piano Magic, Library Tapes, Millimetrix to name a few.

In other S.Hakon news is that a another EP will be released on Chat Blanc records which put out the "Sprengir ílát" EP in 2006. This new one will be a collaboration with the canadian singer Marie Jorge who plays with Void´s Anatomy. S.Hákon did a remix of the song "Life Sleeps" wich eventually lead to this collaboration. Hopefully this will come out later this year as well. Stay tuned for news.

Otherwise S.Hákon is still working on some new material, some material has been written and hopefully see it´s release date in 2009.

JANUARY

Happy new year. 2007 was a good year... the album Gummi was released and the limited EP Kobbi was as well. S.Hakon did a tour in UK which was nice. Unfortunately the Resonant label have decided to call it a day for now and i would like thank them for the support and their love for the music, they really did help put S.Hakon on the map.

Well it seems like 2008 is going to be a interesting year. First off the side project CALDER which is Ólafur Josephsson and Lárus Sigurðsson are almost ready with a new album and they are very excited about that and hopefully the album will see a release date in 2008. The new CALDER stuff sounds very promising and will definately please those who like mellow classical/electronica/drone ambient stuff. The Myspace page will be updated with some new song on it very soon.

There is no plan so far with another S.Hakon album this year, as i feel the need to do something different, but there are always songs being written and processed. S.Hakon just played a gig in Iceland with Ólafur Arnalds in early january and one new song was played which sounded promising.

There is a new video of the song "Þurr Þurr" from the album "Gummi" made by my friend Aðalsteinn .....Check it out !!!!
